A customer has asked if I can make something out of willow. They aren't specific as to what yet. Apparently willow is the traditional gift for a 9th wedding anniversary (Who knew?), and they were wondering if willow was even an option.

Anyone here ever worked with willow before? If so, was it awful? No big deal?

Also, where did you source it from? Some basic Googling hasn't turned up anything. I buy the birch I use from Woodcraft, and their site doesn't turn up anything useful for willow.

I'd love some advice!

Yea, good luck... I did some searching around too and really couldn't find any.. If you do find some you may have to mill it down to whatever thickness, etc that you need. I couldn't find anything thin for sale either... I would tell the customer that if they want you to engrave it, they need to supply the material.. It could take a lot of your time finding it and then getting it milled to size.
