Does anyone know where I can get new wheels and/or bearings for the carriage on the 5th gen?

We had a job tonight where the belt apparently slipped/skipped, throwing everything off

I had an extra belt on hand from a DTG project that hasn't started yet, so I swapped it out. The new belt was 0.010" thicker in the teeth than the old belt. The old belt could have been a little tighter, but it's in the trash now.

While swapping the belt, I found one gravelly bearing on the red carriage. The idler pulley for the belt also has a little bit of slop. I'd like to go ahead and replace them soon 'just because'.

Thanks.

For future reference, a GT2 belt is not the same as what FSL uses

Also, if the gantry is adjusted too snug to the rail, occasionally the stepper won't be able to overcome the torque needed to move it, and it will lose sync.

And apparently I'll have to contact FSL for replacement wheels/bearings.

I think someone had at one time found a replacement for the wheels. But I just went with FSL for mine... Overpriced, but I know they are the exact ones needed. Of course my machine is not for a hobby but for the business and so I need to have things working like they should with minimum down time and minimum time fiddling around with it..

Yep, starting tomorrow when some supplies show up, the laser will probably have 50 hours of cutting to do next week (!). I'll email FSL and see what the damage is.

I did get a quote from FSL for their wheels. Not as bad as I was expecting.

$5 per wheel
$10 per idler pulley
Belts were reasonable too.
